Girl, Interrupted

Please pray for Vivian Laws, who is my good friend Vince's daughter.

She is undergoing treatments at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

Her dad and I grew up on the same street in Bruceton, Tenn., and have been friends for at least 35 years.

The past year has been a struggle for the family, but Vivian hasn't lost her cheery outlook on life.

She's also become quite the little celebrity at St. Jude.

Vivian has met folks such as Miley Cyrus, Sarah Ferguson and Marlo Thomas.

She also spoke at a Melting Pot (restaurant chain) function and "wowed" the company president with her inspirational story. Melting Pot is a big supporter of St. Jude, I'm told.

St. Jude recently featured Vivian on its Web site with an article titled "Girl, interrupted."
